TSN football analyst Chris Schultz is back with his Week 18 selections in the CFL. The Big Man finished 3-1 in Week 17, and sits at 46-23 on the season. Now Schultz is ready for more action. Montreal Alouettes at Ottawa Redblacks One team is auditioning football players for future employment, the other is trying to wrap up first place. And Montreal might just do it. Noel Thorpe as a coordinator has a defence that is playing its best right now. If you go back to four full games to evaluate; they held Calgary to 15 points, Ottawa to seven, Saskatchewan to nine and last week Toronto to 12. That is a consistency that gives you confidence that that side of the football is well taken care of. And this week they play an Ottawa team that has only scored 231 points over 15 games. That averages out to 15 points a game approximately. Also they could have their best defender, Kyrie Hebert, back this week. Henry Burris has only thrown nine touchdown passes this year so I cant expect a touchdown pass explosion come Friday night. But what I do expect is Montreal to keep grinding away and win again making it eight wins and eight losses with two games to go. Montreal over Ottawa. Saskatchewan Roughriders at Calgary Stampeders The Riders are 9-7 with not three but only two games to go as they have a bye week in Week 19. They have to win this one as BC is 8-7 but has three games left so BC and Saskatchewan could easily be tied for third in the West if both teams win out. I would start Kerry Joseph as he may not be the same athlete as in the past but he does have a calming demeanour based on experience. Where Jon Cornish leads the league with 977 yards, Anthony Allen is second with 849 yards. Still I expect Cornish to continue to have more rushing success in the head-to-head battle than Allen. Bo Levi Mitchell back at quarterback also makes a difference, a deep ball difference. Calgary over Saskatchewan. Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Toronto Argonauts Its their second meeting in three weeks and it may be different this time around. Hamilton led 30-13 at one point but then were outscored 21-3 and lost. The Ticats will review that tape and not let the previous set of circumstances repeat. Also the Montreal Alouette video will be beneficial to watch. Montreal held Ricky Ray to 202 yards - no small achievement as he presently leads the CFL with 4,063 yards passing. What they did and how they did it is a teaching tool to absorb and learn from. How effective will Nick Grigsby be? I have no idea. Depends on how much he studies and absorbs and how confident he is in with what he studies and absorbs. This is a tough one as Toronto usually responds well after a loss. Still Hamilton should have extreme confidence. Toronto is desperate. Ill take desperation over confidence. Toronto. BC Lions at Winnipeg Blue Bombers Playoffs still a possible experience for Bomber football but I do not think the players believe it. Watch Solomon Elimimian at linebacker in this game. He has 121 tackles and may break JC Sherritts single-season record. The defensive player of the year award is waiting. Robert Marve did look good in relief but is it worth a look with only two games to go? (Bombers have a bye in Week 20). Well, we all know what Drew Willy can do and it has been good. Brian Brohm may not be healthy and is a work in progress. May not be a bad idea depending on how the game goes. Either way have to go with the bye week-rejuvenated BC Lions. With as many injuries as they have had on offence if they get healthy they can surprise. Can they go a fourth game in a row without a touchdown allowed? We will find out Saturday night. BC. Wholesale Texans Jerseys . Kerr said he had dinner with Jackson, his former coach with Chicago and the new Knicks team president, on Friday night and they talked again Saturday. Kerr is in New York to work the game between the Brooklyn Nets and Toronto Raptors for TNT. Cheap Texans Jerseys China . So much so that even a simple foul pop up to the first baseman turned into a run. Houstons four-run rally in the ninth inning to beat the Seattle Mariners 6-4 on Monday night was capped by a bizarre play that started as Crowe fouled out to first baseman Justin Smoak with runners on second and third. http://www.cheaptexansjerseyselite.com/. -- Kansas City Royals right-hander Luke Hochevar will have Tommy John surgery that will sideline the pitcher for the season. Texans Jerseys Outlet . Heck, we might just miss the BCS. Maybe? It sort of worked out this season. Top-ranked Florida State (13-0) was the only team to get through the regular season unbeaten, and the Seminoles did it in dominating fashion.BEREA, Ohio -- New Browns offensive co-ordinator Kyle Shanahan started a rookie quarterback once in his six years as a play caller. Robert Griffin III, the No. 2 pick in the 2012 draft, set numerous rookie records and was picked AP Offensive Rookie of the Year for the Washington Redskins. Shanahan could get the chance again in his first season in Cleveland. The Browns own the fourth pick in the NFL draft and are expected to take a quarterback, possibly former Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel of Texas A&M. "The most important thing is asking them to do what theyre great at and then working and improving on other aspects of their game," Shanahan said. "You dont need a certain type of quarterback, you just want a good quarterback." New Browns coach Mike Pettine introduced Shanahan on Thursday along with defensive co-ordinator Jim ONeil and special teams co-ordinator Chris Tabor. Pettine took different routes to land the trio. He never worked with Shanahan but was impressed by his six years as co-ordinator, two with Houston and four with Washington. ONeil played for Pettines father, Mike Sr., in high school in Pennsylvania and they worked together for the last five years with the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills. Tabor will enter his fourth year in Cleveland -- with his third head coach. "I think the guys are going to instantly respect the guys weve hired because its, to me, a staff of men of high character, vast football knowledge, coupled with the ability to teach it," Pettine said. Pettine was impressed by Shanahans scheme flexibility and the success of his offences, either throwing or running. In four of Shanahans six years as co-ordinator, his offence ranked in the top 10 in yardage, and Washington in 2012 became the first team in NFL history to pass for 3,400 yards and rush for 2,700 yards in the same season. &"Kyle Shanahan is one of the best offensive minds in football," Pettine said.dddddddddddd However, the 34-year-old Shanahan and father Mike Shanahan, the Redskins former head coach, were let go by Washington on Dec. 30 after going 3-13. Griffins production slipped in his return from a torn anterior cruciate ligament suffered in the playoffs in 2012, and his relationship with the Shanahans deteriorated. Shanahan said he learned a lot from his time with Griffin. "We did a lot of real good things together," Shanahan said. "Im very proud of that first year. I think he arguably had one of the best years in NFL history for a rookie quarterback, and I enjoyed coaching him. "Anytime you go through a 3-13 season, its tough, it is a challenge, its a challenge on your relationship. Youve got to deal with a lot of stuff, a lot of negativity, and the thing I learned going through that, especially with a high-profile guy, theres a lot more stuff that comes out. I think Robert and I got through a very tough time, we managed to keep our relationship through the year. Im not going to say it was easy." ONeil is a co-ordinator for the first time. He was linebackers coach in Buffalo in 2013 and spent the previous four years working with defensive backs for the Jets. Notes: Pettine hired 11 more assistants Thursday, nearly completing his staff: quarterbacks coach Dowell Loggains, wide receivers coach Mike McDaniel, offensive line coach Andy Moeller, running backs coach Wilbert Montgomery, defensive line coach Anthony Weaver, strength and conditioning coach Paul Ricci, assistant offensive line coach George DeLeone, assistant strength and conditioning coach Chris DiSanto, offensive quality control coach Richard Hightower, assistant strength and conditioning coach Derik Keyes and defensive quality control coach Tony Tuioti.
